Regarding the mandatory section 8 housing issue, it got me thinking of one of many problems with subsidized housing: that is, the person being subsidized bumps out a person who may make just a little more money that does not qualify for the subsidized housing. So, the person who, all things being equal, pushed to make a little more money is in effect penalized now because someone making less money now is in the rental unit that could have been occupied by the slightly more income person. Fair?
