I have reservations about dedicating the right lanes of E Santa Clara and Alum Rock to public transit and emergency vehicles. Denying the right lanes to private vehicular traffic will undoubtedly cause backups. I fear that the residential streets that intersect the corridor will see precipitous increases in dangerous speeding traffic detouring north to E Julian and south to E San Antonio. East-west private vehicular traffic will be severely impacted on all three corridors.
CommUniverCity has been working with residents of the En Movimiento neighborhoods for over 15 years. I represented CommUniverCity on the En Movimiento community advisory group. PleaseI vote yes for the En Movimiento plan. The plan is ambitious and innovative but also cognizant of fiscal restraints. We are particularly enthusiastic about a through-way for cyclists and pedestrians along St. John Street from downtown through Roosevelt Park.

Please vote YES for the "En movimiento" plan. It proposes to expanded network of sidewalks, bike lanes and bus lanes alongside a Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) line, giving East Side residents a better array of options for car-less travel. It will be a boon for all San José residents and its neighbors. There is a higher need for better walking and bicycling infrastructure and services in East José due to increased economic disadvantage there.
