I oppose the designation of Alameda Park/Schiele Avenue neighborhood as a historic district as it prevents future inclusive development such as affordable housing for low income folks/BI+POC communities. Please vote to prevent existing policies that continue to promote segregation in our city.

This memo will make perpetuate existing segregation policies that have divided San Jose. By designating Alameda Park neighborhood as a historic district, this will exacerbate redlining within the city. This is racist and exclusionary, which will lead to "white only" neighborhoods that is not becoming of a so called "progressive" city in the Bay Area. Please vote this down and involve the community to a larger conversation to ID actionable steps to address this racist and classist redlining.

San Jose needs housing options that provide affordable options for working class communities. This would limit that.

Please reconsider this nomination as it contributes to redlining
