I strongly oppose the adoption by the City Council of the Mitigated Negative Declaration, the conforming rezoning of the 2 parcels, and the special use permit. Our lifestyles, and our home values will be negatively impacted. Our neighborhood will become a place of urban disaster and decay. Who would want to buy a single family home with a 6 story building towering over it? Our street, Castlemont, cannot handle the additional traffic and overflow parking from a 6 story hotel.

500 characters is insufficient to summarize our opposition to adopting the MND, approving the rezoning to CP, and approving the special use permit for the proposed hotel.
    - The city's response to the IS/MND is insufficient.
    - The proposed hotel does not support the intent of the Winchester Urban Village Plan rezoning effort.
    - There are enough open questions about the proposed hotel that approval of the special use permit would not be appropriate at this time.

Ariel view reveals that the current 2 lanes on Winchester will have to be narrowed Thus impact on downstream & upstream traffic.

Cumulative impacts is significant violating CEQA laws that were mandated to protect the environment and public. As proposed project reports (EIR, Traffic etc) generated without public input and identified issues brought up by the public were ignored. Therefore this project would cause changes in the surrounding environment that will have potential to cause substantial adverse direct or indirect effects on residents, neighboring schools and cities.

We strongly urge the City Council deny approval of the Mitigated Negative Declaration, the Conforming Rezoning and the
Special Use Permit as an inappropriate use of smaller, shallow parcels as outlined in the Urban Village Plan. We support the Winchester
Urban Village Plan which called for neighborhood friendly, smaller retail, being mutually beneficial for both business and community.
We look forward to safe sidewalks and bike paths for walking, transit use and public interaction.

We opposed the rezoning and special use permit. This proposed rezoning to allow for a 6 story building adjacent to single family homes is innappropriate and will negatively impact the neighborhood on many levels including privacy, adequate sunlight, fire safety and adequate parking. We appreciate your conisderation.

I oppose this development as it will cause undue traffic, and be unsightly to the neighborhood.

I oppose the hotel, mainly due to the lack of parking. They have well over 100 rooms, but only around half that in parking spaces. Those parking spaces are needed for both the hotel guests and the staff. This is not enough.

No more large capacity development! This state is bad enough on water and cars. Vehemently oppose.

The proposed Hotel of 1212 S Winchester Blvd, 6 story / 119 Rm Hotel, will affect our neighborhood negatively. It's too big for the neighborhood. It lacks sufficient parking, while existing nearby residents routinely experience pkg conflicts, where we lack viable public transit alternatives. The proposed hotel will need to pay the costs of additional sources of water (not processed urine), power, and Internet services. The drawing of the proposed Hotel is of an extraordinarily UGLY building.

I live 3-blocks behind proposal and work 2-buildings away. Parking is scarce as it is, there is a school zone to consider and this will negatively impact our neighborhood

I am opposed to the special use permit and rezoning for the proposed Winchester Hotel Project. I do not believe the project will add value to the area and rather will affect the area negatively. A hotel does not seem in line with the Winchester Blvd Urban Village. I urge the city to reject this project and consider a project that would be useful to the residents.

The initial study for this project claims in item K- Land use and planning that there's no impact according to CEQA. I believe it is in violation of CEQA as, the land use designation in the Winchester Blvd Urban Village plan is Neighborhood, community commercial. A hotel does not fit that description and it would be in clear violation of the Winchester Urban Village Plan for the stretch of Winchester Blvd. I urge the City council to Vote No on the rezoning and special use permit request.

I am writing to voice my extreme opposition to the proposed multi storied building on Winchester.
It will change the look and feel of the neighborhood. Increase traffic and adversely affect the nearby neighbors. I can’t imagine having a six story building in my back yard.
    Please vote no !!

I believe this multi storied building is out of place for this location. It will add only additional traffic, and parking problems. I am opposed to it.

Dear Mayor Liccardo, Vice Mayor Jones and Councilmembers,
I am writing today to voice my opposition to the special use permit and rezoning for the proposed Winchester Hotel Project.
This project would increase traffic and compromise the safety and quality of life in the Winchester neighborhood.
The proposal of this 119 room six story hotel does not fit the guidelines of the Winchester Urban Village Plan.
I urge you to vote no on this special use permit and rezoning request.

As a resident of 30 years in this neighborhood and someone who would be detrimentally affected by the development of this hotel, I urge the City Council to vote No on the Special use permit and rezoning request. We need development, but it also has to suit the neighborhood. This stretch of Winchester Blvd, is supposed to be neighborhood/community/commercial. There is nothing in the proposed project that would fall within that designation.
