Chuck lived through the Civil Rights movement and saw great change in San Jose and Silicon Valley. He was a trailblazer for African American student athletes at San Jose State University, and was a founder of the Good Brothers House, a rooming house for African American athletes at a time when the United States was still segregated. - City of San Jose
