Hong Kong-listed Success Universe Group Ltd, an investor in Macau casino hotel Ponte 16, has appointed Cua Fong Ying as the company's secretary and authoritative representative, effective Thursday (June 20). Cua replaces Agnes Chiu Nam Ying, who has tendered his resignation as the company's secretary, according to Thursday's filing.

Ms. Cua joined Success Universe in 2006 and has been in charge of the group's secretarial affairs, the company said. She previously served as the senior secretary of Success Universe.

She is described as having "extensive experience" of "working for various companies" listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

Success Universe posted a net profit of HK$169.3 million ($21.6 million) for the full year of 2023, compared with a net loss of close to HK$287.1 million a year earlier.

Overall group sales were HK$101.9 million last year, down 11.2% from 2022. Cost in the reporting period fell 16.8% year-on-year to HK$85.1 million, the Hong Kong-listed firm said in March.

The success universe is currently making long-anticipated preparations for its expansion into Ponte 16, a casino-hotel complex with views of Macau's Inner Harbor. The expansion plan is expected to include an investment of "HK500 million to HK600 million," Hoffman Mahoman, the company's vice president, said in February.
