When running for his first term for mayor, Liccardo participated in the D1 mayoral candidates forum held Bethel Church on Winchester Blvd. There he told the story of when he told his Sicilian grandfather he'd be attending Harvard Law School, seeking the blessings of his grandfather. He stated the response of his grandfather was "as long as you don't become 'one of them'!". His namesake grandfather must be turning in his grave. It is clear to so many he has become "one of them". Shame on you Sam!

This proposal violates the United States Constitution and legal gun owners have already undergone background checks and safety instructions. Enforce existing laws and prosecute violent criminals.
Gun ownership has been equated to driving a car but if your car is on private property and has been non registered, it is not required to have insurance. It is an absurd comparison.
Educate yourself and your kids on firearm safety.

I strongly oppose File 22-045. This is another attempt to increase the burden and cost of firearm ownership for common folks. And this will have no affect on criminals. But let's defund police while making it harder for people to defend themselves. More people die from the seasonal flu each year than die from firearm deaths of all categories combined (murder, suicide, accident, law enforcement). See Pew Research Center for stats.

I strongly oppose this attack on our second amendment rights. This ordinance will do nothing to stop violence, but will penalize law abiding citizens. It will ultimately fail when tested in court and I request that we spend the time and energy of our elected representatives on something that will make a difference. Fixing roads! Homeless. Crime! I request a no vote on this ordinance. My future voting for mayor and city council will be based in a big part on that you do on this ordinance.

I OPPOSE this gun measure. I have a constitutional right to keep and bear arms. It's called the 2nd Amendment!!

If the "electronic" system changes my Position Status, it is OPPOSE. Our CONSTITUTIONAL right to keep & bear arms, earned and paid for with our forefathers' blood, can not be taxed or burdened. What part of "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed" is incomprehensible? The People were, are and will always be the "militia" standing in the way of despotism. Molon Labe
