In a recent Yahoo finance poll, 80% of respondents said that they would avoid going to a restaurant if they were required to show vaccination status for entry. 31,000 people who responded to the poll. If you choose to mandate vaccines in public spaces in San Jose, that poll shows that you will be choosing to put those type of public venues out of business, plain and simple. Smart business owners will not support them.
Vaccine mandate is absolutely ridiculous. Not being able to enter a business to spend your money unless you have "the shot" is not helpful for businesses nor does it truly make sense to help people "stay healthy" If this is forced on us it will only be the beginning, imagine the next thing that government wants to force on us will happen even easier if things like this are allowed. Be smart and God bless us all!
There are enormous risks when taking these vaccines, therefore there must be a choice. Informed consent is key, no one should be forced to inject themselves with a product that we don't know enough about and has NOT gone through all the necessary clinical trials. We can see the vaccine is NOT working as more and more breakthrough cases surface, so why mandate a product that is flawed and does not stop infection or transmission?
Mandating vaccinations in any way to participate in society is a direct violation of our constitutional rights and won't be tolerated. It is an individual's right to CHOOSE what's best for them, not you.
I oppose this mandate, and I urge you to oppose it as well. It is my body, my choice. Every person has different health needs and religious beliefs. Every body should be able to participate in society and NOT be discriminated against!
This is not a “pandemic of the unvaccinated”. The vaccine does not prevent Covid, it can only protect an individual from severe disease. For some, the risk of the vaccine outweighs the benefit. So then, what’s the purpose of Vaccine Passports? They’re simply discriminatory.
Because of vaccine mandates, my friend in San Francisco can't go to many places she wants, she's among the black community. I don't wish to see people's activities limited here in San Jose too. Vaccine mandates disproportionately affects minorities. San Jose council members, don't discriminate against minorities in San Jose ok?
I am opposed to a vaccine mandate or a vaccine passport. It is irresponsible to mandate a treatment without long term studies. A vaccine mandate does not take into consideration natural immunity from having recovered from covid. A vaccine passport would pave the way for a 3rd party to decide where citizens can go based on the parameters the establishment sets. That is extremely dangerous for personal freedom. This is wrong!! I stand for medical freedom!

As a person who responds terribly to vaccines, I wouldn’t be able to enjoy regular life and fun things because people want to start controlling our freedom. San Jose won’t be a stop for us any longer if this goes into play. That’s rediculous.
Why are we vilifying the unvaccinated? The vaccinated can still get sick with COVID and transmit the virus. I hear "follow the science", but I don't believe that you have a clear understanding of what the science is. There are thousands of doctors who dispute the efficacy of the COVID experimental drug and many who believe that it is dangerous. Why are they being censored? Why are treatments that have proven effective (Ivermectin) in curing COVID being ridiculed and info about them censored?
I do not support the covid vaccine. I believe that it is wrong to force the vaccine on all of us. I have heard way to many bad things about it so I’m not going to get it. Please understand that it is wrong to force the vaccine on all of us without it being our own decision to make for ourselves.
This is a big step towards forced medical procedures: Right now it’s Covid “vaccine” coercion. What is next? Vaccine mandate. And then next week the government says, everybody needs to get their right arm amputated – for public safety.
Please, do not vote for the vaccine passports.

As a Long time San Jose patron, I do not support this vaccine mandate. Besides freedom infringements, this will be an economic disaster.

Oppose the mandate as the Council has no right to impose this requirement on citizens and the vaccine has proven to be only marginally effective.
