8.4 23-842 City Initiatives Roadmap: Recreational Vehicles Communities Support Parking and Emergency Interim Housing. - TO BE HEARD CONCURRENTLY WITH ITEM 8.5
Strongly oppose this! The homeless people are already causing problems in the area. They steal packages & they try using people’s water hoses to bathe themselves in. It is terribly unsafe to do this!
The homeless encampment plan is huge and so close to dense residential areas around Berryessa, and 10 years is a long long time. There have been some small homeless groups camping near Hwy 680/Berryessa and at the creek near Jackson and Educational Park and there have been many events of stolen bikes, mail and packages at night, some were recorded to the Police but nothing has been done. Folks live near the creek reported trash and crap we’re dumped into the creek. Please find a suburban area.
As a person with Lived Experience of Homelessness I strongly support moving forward with these sites and any additional sites City Staff identifies in the future. The folks opposing these sites would not feel the same if there was a natural disaster and we were setting up sites for them and their families to live because they have no other place to live. This is a humanitarian crisis and we must do anything and everything we can to provide our fellow HUMANS a place to live temp and permanently.

We strongly oppose this. We have kids and schools nearby in this residential area. Please keep our community safe.
I strongly oppose it. Homeless should be far away from schools, for kids’ safety.

No data show the project can reduce the problem in the neighborhood and concentrating the problem to a singe site can bring new problem
