8.4 23-842 City Initiatives Roadmap: Recreational Vehicles Communities Support Parking and Emergency Interim Housing. - TO BE HEARD CONCURRENTLY WITH ITEM 8.5
Strongly opposed to this action, the area safety is already becoming a concerns for local residents because of increased homeless related issues, there are schools nearby and this action would definitely pose big risk to kid’s safety.
Noooo! Absolutely no, if each homeless costs taxpayers over $69k, it's nor the right method to solve the issue. Many middle class families struggle to makes ends meet under the current economy.
Strongly oppose this. This action will disappoint the coming construction in Flea market. Less investor and homeowner will come into this area in the future.
With the current situation (as of right now 6/1/2023), so many issues is happening around this neighborhood. Homeless people loitering around, Packages being stolen, the neighborhood’s mailbox getting wrecked, cars getting broken into, trash being littered around like corn from the flea market on our doorstep, and many more minor issues that accumulated as a whole major issue. My family and I DO NOT feel safe at all if homeless residents with RVs is added to the whole neighborhood issues above.
I say strongly NO to the agenda 8.4: RV park at Berryessa neighborhood. We has been suffered from the homeless problems in massive trashes, package stolen, mail stolen, and insecurity. The RV park site will definitely introduce much more homeless problem and I don’t think it will be well managed given the homeless problem near Berryessa area is still unresolved
I oppose this proposal. In close proximity to 1300 Berryessa Road, there are numerous undeveloped areas and residents. Currently, this locality lacks essential life facilities, hindering its progress. It is crucial to prioritize the establishment of basic amenities like schools and hospitals. These facilities would significantly enhance the development and improve the quality of life for its residents. Constructing interim housing and parking would only exacerbate the existing issues.
Our community is messy enough by all different kinds of homelesses already. Breaking-ins, mail/package theft, cluster mailboxes stolen, mental illness homeless hanging around, "living" in our gas meter closets. BeautifySJ team has been working so hard to help cleaning up the area but why are you bringing them back!?
I oppose to this proposal. The security is getting worst since the safeway plaza opened. Homeless people wandering around, package theft, mail theft, and other criminal issues. My car just got broken into at the end of May. This have never happened before tha plaza opened up. Please stop this proposal. This is only going to make the situation worst. Building a parking lot will never solve the issue.
I oppose this proposal as it is not the most effective approach to addressing homelessness. While a safe RV parking area may offer temporary relief, it fails to tackle the root causes or provide a pathway out of poverty. Instead, efforts should focus on affordable housing, job training, mental health services, and substance abuse treatment to break the cycle of homelessness.
I oppose the RV site at 1300 Berryessa Road. The area already faces security issues and increased criminal activities from the homeless population. The presence of the RV site may worsen these challenges. There is already an emergency housing site on Mabury Road 1 mile away, causing a decline in the neighborhood's quality of life. Another homeless facility could further deteriorate the situation. It's unfair to burden this neighborhood with additional services.
